Elevator Lower Wall Panel Edge Trimmed in Bronze at Austin Hotel by G&R Custom Elevator Cabs
“Keep Austin weird” inspired the elaborate yet comfortable cab interior design in each with the rear-wall centerpieces featuring printed deer heads on holographic-like vinyl wallpaper made of 5/8” thick sheets measuring 10.6 inches wide by 17 inches long. The bronze-edged lower wall panels are made from repurposed leather belts of various size, color, wear, and texture. Both frieze (located behind tri-wall round handrail) and the handrails are made of lacquered bronze. Textured, low-gloss laminate is the material face on the upper wall panels. Phenolic Chemetal is used for the corner reveals, and bases (beneath the lower wall panels).

Three Elevator Interiors + One Service Interior

This EPIC Solution system, wall panel design #GR704e, involved customization in panel construction to accommodate unique architectural surface materials. An inset, full-height panel is the centerpiece of this design motif featuring a holographic-like print that was imported from France. The lower wall panels are composed of a variety of repurposed leather belts. The upper wall panels incorporate textured laminate with low-gloss sheen. Tall Accent Trim (located behind the handrails) and Round handrails are composed of lacquered bronze while the Reveals (located at each rear corner) and Bases (located beneath the lower wall panels) are composed of Chemetal.

A six-panel island ceiling features Chemetal and linear LED perimeter lights.
