Six Custom Elevator Cabins
Partners: ThyssenKrupp, Kahler Slater
Centegra Health System’s new five-story hospital was completed in August 2016, four months ahead of schedule and $3 million under budget, according to Centegra program management partner, Hammes Company. The swift pace of this project was evident early: G&R received “approval” on the Approval Drawings on June 12, 2014, shortly after the June 2, 2014, bid date.
These MRL elevator systems incorporate Aluminum cab shells and durable interior finishes. The interiors feature our Traditional, #GR603 horizontal wall panel layout. Two different wall panel face materials have been used to maximize cost efficiencies: cars #6 and #7 utilize Cambria® (Clyde Desert Collection) stone, while cars #1, #8, # 9, and #10 feature Hanex Mayfair (BL-007) acrylic resin. Despite this minor difference, all lower wall panels were made with Wilsonart® Columbian Walnut (7943-k12).
Each car employs painted steel suspended ceilings with a 48”x48” square aperture and 49”x49”x10mm hydrophilic diffuser. Returns, door cladding, transoms, and reveals are composed of stainless steel #4 (satin finish). Bar Handrails with returned ends (model BR4FS) are installed on side and rear walls, and the plenum features several LED light strips.
“The team at G&R is very responsive and works with us to help navigate schedules (that may be less than G&Rs’ published lead time).”
